Quick Troubleshooting (FAQ)

Something not working as expected? Don’t worry, here are quick fixes to get you back on track in seconds.tienes la solución en segundos.

1. Why does my overlay look laggy or stutter?

Cause: Your system may be under heavy load, or the video file is too demanding.

  • Solution: Go to your source properties and make sure “Use hardware decoding when available” is enabled. This allows your GPU to handle video processing more efficiently, reducing lag.

2. The video has sound, but it’s not audible on stream.

Cause: Audio monitoring is disabled by default.

  • Solution: In the Audio Mixer, click the three dots (⋮) on the source and select Advanced Audio Properties. Change “Audio Monitoring” from Monitor Off to “Monitor and Output.” Now both you and your audience will be able to hear it.

3. I imported the scene collection, but everything appears black.

Cause: The files were moved from their original folder (broken file paths).

  • Solution: Refer to the “Broken Files” section above. You only need to relink the folder once for OBS to recognize all assets again.

4. Why is my camera behind the overlay?

Cause: Incorrect source order.

  • Solution: In the Sources panel, drag your camera source higher in the list. Remember: sources at the top appear in front.

5. Can I change the overlay color?

Cause: The overlay comes with a predefined color, but OBS allows adjustments.

  • Solution: Right-click the source → Filters → click +Color Correction. Use the Hue Shift setting to adjust the color and match your personal brand without editing the original file.

Final Tip: Before going live, record a short 30-second test. Speak, switch scenes, and review both video and audio to ensure everything looks and sounds exactly how you want.

It’s always better to fix things now than during a live stream.
