Key Concepts

Understanding how OBS organizes your setup is essential for maintaining a clean, efficient, and professional workflow. Here are the core elements behind your new design.

Technical Definitions

  • What is a Profile? A Profile is the container for your technical configuration. It stores settings such as bitrate, output resolution (e.g., 1080p), streaming servers, and hotkeys. When importing our profile, these values are automatically optimized for your system to ensure the best performance.

  • What is a Scene Collection? A Scene Collection is the container for your visual layout. It organizes all your overlays, webcam feeds, alerts, and game captures. You can switch between different collections to use unique designs for specific games, categories, or streaming styles.

  • What is a Source? Sources are the individual elements that make up a Scene. These can include video files (media sources), images, text, browser sources, or devices such as your webcam.

Security Note: Avoid moving your overlay folder after completing the setup, as this may break file paths within OBS. For better organization, we recommend creating a dedicated folder such as C:/Streaming_Assets/ and storing all your files there permanently.
